Hi, I’m Ben. I’m building Ansoar.

Ansoar helps businesses find out whether ChatGPT and Google’s AI recommend them when customers are choosing, and what to do if they don’t. This is why I started it, and where it’s at.

It started with a screenshot. A business owner asks ChatGPT who the best provider in their area is, sees a competitor named instead, and screenshots it. Then what? They don’t know if it was a one-off, whether Google says the same thing, or what they’d even change. Ask again a week later and the answer’s different, which doesn’t help.

I wanted to see how far that went, so I tried the main AI visibility tools on a real Sydney business. They were good at producing a score. They weren’t much help with the questions the owner actually had: who keeps getting the work, what should we fix first, and did the fix make any difference?

That’s the gap Ansoar is built for.

A bit about me

Most of my working life has been split between two things that turn out to matter a lot here.

At AME Research in Sydney I led the carbon team and built the company’s carbon emissions model. Building a model like that makes you careful with numbers: what they can tell you, and where they stop. Later I ran AME’s sales and marketing, then its revenue team, and hired for the Jakarta office. Sales teaches you something different.

Nobody wants a dashboard. They want to know where the next customer is coming from.

Before AME I was at Coldbuster Floor Heating, working on the product range, finding partners and helping customers decide. And I started out in R&D at Tindo Solar in Adelaide, which might explain why so many of the examples on this site are solar installers.

How I think about it

AI gives different answers to the same question, so I don’t trust any number built on a single check. Ansoar asks every day, keeps every answer, and lets you read them, so you never have to take a percentage on faith.

I also try hard not to oversell. Nobody outside OpenAI and Google knows exactly why an AI recommends one business over another, so Ansoar won’t pretend to. When you make a change, it shows you what moved afterwards, not that your change caused it. And it won’t tell you to add an llms.txt file, because there’s no evidence it helps. Google says its Search ignores them.

Where things are

Ansoar is live, and anyone can start a 7-day free trial. The core of it works: tracking across ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Google’s AI, competitors and the sources behind them, suggested actions, before and after, website checks, and white-labelled reports for agencies.

There’s no API yet, it’s English only for now, and you won’t find customer stories here. It’s early, and I’d rather wait for real ones than make them up.

If any of this sounds like a problem you have, or you run an agency and want to offer it to your clients, email me at ben@ansoar.io. It comes straight to me, and hard questions are welcome.
