Find out who AI recommends when your customers are choosing
When someone is about to spend thousands on a new roof, a heat pump or veneers, more of them now ask ChatGPT or Google who to use. AI names two or three businesses. If you’re not one of them, you never hear about that job.
Ansoar tells you whether you’re on that list, who’s on it instead, and what to do next. If you like, it emails you a short update on the days you choose.

Asking ChatGPT yourself gives you a different answer every day
Most owners have tried it: type "best roofer near me", screenshot the answer, feel good or worried for a day.
But the answer keeps changing. SparkToro and Gumshoe found less than a 1 in 100 chance that two identical runs return the same list of brands. One check tells you what happened once.
Ansoar asks every day and shows you the pattern, so you know whether you actually have a problem, and how big it is.

Exactly what AI said
Every answer is saved with the question, platform and date. Open one and you can see who was recommended, where you were left out, and which sites AI quoted for your competitors.
"Is a home battery worth it in NSW, and who should install it?"
A battery can make sense if you already have solar and use most of your power in the evening. For installation in the Newcastle area, these installers come up often:
- Coastwatt Energy, known for clear rebate guidance and strong local reviews.
- Harbourline Solar, which publishes installed-system examples and warranty terms.
- Sunvale Home Power, a smaller installer with good feedback on aftercare.
Other options include Ridgeway Electrical. Get at least three quotes before deciding.

Action for home battery installation
Publish a battery rebate and installation page with real install evidence
- Explain battery rebate eligibility in plain language.
- Show the brands you install, warranty terms and typical install times.
- Add three recent local installs with photos and system sizes.
- Ask recent battery customers for a Google review.
Why this surfaced: Coastwatt Energy leads 7 of 9 tracked battery searches, and its rebate guide is the source cited most often when it is recommended. Brightline has no page covering rebates.
When the work is done, log it. Ansoar keeps asking the same questions and shows you the weeks before and after side by side. How before and after works.
Does any of this turn into leads and sales?
Connect Google Analytics and configure how AI visits, leads and sales are tracked, using the events you already measure. Ansoar then shows the visits it can identify as coming from AI platforms, and how many became leads and sales.
Treat that number as a floor. Someone can find you in an AI answer, think about it for a week, then search your name. Nobody can attribute that visit to AI, including us.
If one job is worth thousands, it’s built for you
If your customers shop around before they spend, there’s a good chance some of them are asking AI first. For example:
What the research actually says, so far
There’s a lot of guessing about AI search. Here’s what has actually been measured, with the studies linked. None of it guarantees a recommendation, but it’s a better starting point than a hunch.
- Google Business Profile is one of the most cited sources. BrightLocal analysed nearly two million citations across 1,355 locations in Australia, the UK and the US. Google Business Profile made up 28.5% of citations and appeared for 94% of locations.
- Most cited domains are business websites. In the same data, around 93% of cited domains were individual business websites.
- Review sites are cited more when people are deciding. Seer Interactive analysed 804,491 AI responses and found review and trust sites rose to roughly a quarter of citations on questions asked when people are choosing.
- There is no published evidence that an llms.txt file helps. Google says Search ignores it, and Ahrefs found 97% of published files received no requests in a month.
Common questions
How do I check if ChatGPT recommends my business?
Ask the questions your customers would ask, many times, and keep every answer. One check is not reliable because AI answers change between identical runs. Ansoar runs every tracked search once a day on each platform you choose, keeps each answer, and records whether you were recommended, only mentioned or absent.
Why does AI recommend my competitors instead of me?
There’s no way to know for sure from the outside. Ansoar shows the patterns it can observe: sources that keep appearing when a competitor is recommended and you are not, decisions where your pages cover less, and platforms where the gap is concentrated.
How quickly will I see results?
Your first measurements, including how often you are recommended and who is recommended instead, appear within minutes of setup. Prioritised actions usually start to appear within a few days to a week, as evidence builds.
Which AI platforms do you measure?
You choose three of five: ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Google AI Mode and Google AI Overviews, each reported separately. You can switch whenever you like and your history is kept, though keeping the same three for at least four weeks gives each a reliable baseline.
Can it track my local area?
Yes. Each search can be set to your suburb, city, state or country, so you see what AI tells customers near you. Ansoar works for businesses in any country, with searches and answers in English for now.
How long does setup take?
Usually under 10 minutes. Enter your website and Ansoar suggests your customer decisions, competitors and the searches to track. It suggests up to 10 competitors to start with, and you can add more at any time. Change anything you want, or let Ansoar handle it.
What does it cost?
Plans are set by how many searches run each day: 40, 100 or 300. Every plan includes unlimited customer decisions and competitors. Brand is $79 USD a month, and Growth, for two brands or locations, is $149, or 15% less billed yearly. Every account starts with a 7-day free trial, and no credit card is needed.
